Marathon Race (ESS & NROC Points earned)
For the Pro and Advanced skaters who would like to race against the clock for 26.2 miles (24 laps).  All pros in the Eastern Seaboard Series, except juvenile, will skate the Marathon distance. 

Half Marathon Race
For the Pro and Advanced skaters who would like to race against the clock for 13.1 miles (12 laps). 

10K (ESS Points earned)
For the Advanced skaters who would like to race against the clock for 10K (6 laps). 

5K (ESS Points earned)
All ages of Recreation skaters are welcome to skate 3 laps around the track.

timing

Chip Timing
All events will be timed using AMB Chip Timing Technology.  Prior to skating, all participants are required to check-in to complete a waiver and receive their assigned chip.  Participants will be charged $110 if their rental chip is not returned when done skating.

requirements

Eligibility
All Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K participants must be able to maintain a minimum of a 9-minutes per mile pace.

All 5K participants must be at least 5 years of age.

Waiver
All skating participants must check in and complete a waiver prior to entering the Skate of the Union.

Drafting & Etiquette
Cross-gender drafting is permitted. All slower skaters are requested to skate in the right side of the track to allow for incident free passing by faster skaters in the left lane.

Event Number
Participants in the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and the 5K must wear their event number on their left thigh to access the track.

Protective Equipment
All Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K participants are required to wear a helmet and wrist protection. Knee and elbow pads are recommended.

Additional Safety Precautions
Only inline skates will be permitted for the Marathon and Half Marathon. Headphones, skateboards and animals are not permitted.  Baby joggers & strollers are not permitted on the track.

Personal Hydration
It is recommended that all participants bring their own personal hydration system (e.g. water bottle or Camelbak).

Inclement Weather Policy
The Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K will occur rain or shine. No skating will be permitted in the case of lightning.  The 5K will be canceled if the pavement is wet.

Awards
Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age category for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K.

Points
National Roller Cup (NROC): NROC skaters will earn points for the Marathon distance.  To learn more about NROC, visit the National Roller Cup website.

Eastern Seaboard Series (ESS): ESS skaters will earn Stage 5 points for the Marathon, 10K & 5K distances.  Skaters who participated in 3 stages and who have accumulated the most points at the end of the series will be the overall champion for that division. Pro Age Categories:  Pro Juvenile 9 & Under, Pro Freshman 10-12, Pro Junior 13-16, Pro Senior 17+, Pro Master 35+, Pro Veteran 45+

Advanced Age Categories: Advanced Juvenile 9 & Under, Advanced Freshman 10-12, Advanced Junior 13-16, Advanced Senior 17 & Up, Advanced Master 35+, Advanced Veteran 45+, Advanced Grand Veteran 55+, Advanced Classic Women 25+

Recreation Age Categories: Rec Skater Juvenile 9 & Under, Rec Skater Freshman 10-12, Rec Skater Junior 13-16, Rec Skater Senior 17 & Up, Rec Skater Master 35+, Rec Skater Veteran 45+

Results
Results will be posted online by September 26, 2010.
